Yep! Our three months on the same mooring at Asahan just before you picked it up was our battery recharge after all the go, go, go since leaving Australia and it is also our favourite anchorage we've found in Indonesia so far. Guess it's not a secret Gili anymore. Cheers Rob & Karen.

I get the fixed costs but pricing your time doesn’t cut it for me, and I know you are a bit tongue in cheek ... essentially you are paying for a lifestyle, and a very enjoyable one, it’s not quite like a video technician going into the office etc etc .. but anyway very sad to see how little you earn from your very professional outputs !

You may already know this - with adblocker plus installed, your videos get automatically interrupted by (unwanted and annoying) commercial product and political ads. I don't know if you and your channel benefit from those ads. Fortunately the 'mute' button still works, and sometimes there's a prompt that allows me to 'skip' the full ad content. Bottom line: it's not easy to find true 'advert-free' TV/videos content.

1,453rd view; 287th LIKE posted. I've not even looked into how or the worth of trying to monetize a music-only channel. QUESTION: how does the length of your videos help or hurt the numbers of those who will want to take the time to watch a complete episode? TBH - there is the Speed settings option that always viewers to watch the playback in less time than posted. Would it be helpful TO YOU - to create videos that are only 10-20 minutes long; and do MORE of them? Cheers!

The "creator economy" is basically a scam; the idea that one can make a living off social media is one of the biggest hoaxes even foisted on the public. Sure the platforms in the beginning were relatively generous in their payouts for content so they could build up a critical mass of viewers (to monetize the content for themselves NOT the creators). Once the platforms reached critical mass, they drastically reduced payouts because the market was saturated and they didn't really need much anymore. Sure, they still allow a few "headliners" and "influencers" to make decent money for their content, and publicize this fact (to reel in new suckers to create more free contend for the platforms to monetize), but for everyone else it's peanuts. Face it, your hard work and great content is just basically working for Alphabet, Meta, or whoever for free, while the companies and their shareholders are making tens of billions of dollars from it.

I really liked this episode where you showed the ancorage at Lombok. The filming and the still pictures together with voiceover is great. Many "younger and bigger" channels just talks too much all the time. Maybe it´s because i´m getting older as well 😁

Gimp is good for photo editing. It's free, tricky compared to Photoshop though. For video editing you could use Shotcut. Shotcut is really easy to use.

That’s the most educational anchor haul ever. You showed realistic how it go’s. Lesson one derived , take your time and stick to the plan. I use anchor alarm as my plotters does know the chain length deployed. Obviously it’s a tool like doorknob to open a door. Not a primary device to trust. Sound of the alarm doesn’t wake me 😂 so I need my wife or daughter to call that there is something beeping.😊 My waking device is a wave or movement that is not normal.

As from the start of your channel I follow. Why is all about your honesty. Humble , happy and a realistic. No bragging at all. Also at most episode you show the world how to behave as a “stranger” in a foreign country. I call it the British politeness attitude if I have to give a name. For sample the American way can sometimes blunt or even harsh for the receiving end. Tour a American group true Paris for that experience. No offence , it is that way. Being humble is not always gifted for some or a culture. About your video footage, your videos of the flora and fauna are always epic. Krakatoa was one of an super epic video. My favourite ❤️ Please keep up the story tell, filled with beautiful pictures or video. It’s relaxing while learning. Thanks for sharing. On you tube , I suspect that if you have long list of subscriptions you tube algorithm will be in disarray. Less is more 😊 SLV does have people at home that are helping with editing and so organise the media stream. It’s not all direct form that boat.

One of the main issues with youtube, is being un-subscribed from channels I enjoy watching and having to subscribe again and again & ding the bell, the only gripe I have with some channels is paid promotions, I understand why they have to do these and I don't blame them, I blame google for poor payment levels, the revenue used to be quite good but over the years has been steadily dropping off in value from a dollar to cents and that spells the death nell for those trying to make it in the tube world, I gave up a long time ago and now only watch vid's when I can.

As someone with a younger channel (working on my refit currently) I found this unvarnished look at the UA-cam economy very interesting and relatable. Thank you. 🙏
